Japanese Hair Straightening Technique: A method of making curly or frizzy hair perfectly straight. It restructures the hair leaving it silky and smooth. Must not be done after using sodium hydroxide-based hair relaxers. If sodium hydroxide based hair relaxers have been used, client must have hair relaxed with non-sodium relaxer until all sodium hydroxide relaxer grows out. Very expensive, but worth it.

Razor Cutting: Hair cutting done with a razor or a razor comb. Great for thick course hair. This should never  be used on thin fine hair.

Root Perm: A method where previously permed hair (or hair that shouldn't have curl) is protected by plastic backed end papers. Leaving the hair in a super healthy not over processed condition. Time consuming, therefore more expensive.

Shine Colors: Semi-permanent colors (lasts up to 6 weeks) used for non-commitment color. Adds tremendous shine to the hair. Can also use clear shine.

Super Shears: Cobalt surgical steel super sharp shears. These shears cost at least $350.00. They keep hair ends from being "mashed". Prevents the "frizzes". Cheap shears ruin hair.

Texturizing: Done with razor or super shears. Adds volume for fine thin hair (best with super shears) or calms thick course hair.
